ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS
Anti-wrinkle injections are a popular cosmetic treatment to significantly re-establish a younger complexion. They can be used on all parts of the face and neck to subtly soften laughter lines, dramatically reduce deep set wrinkles, eliminate crow’s and forehead lines, and smoothen wrinkled, sagging skin on the jawline and neck.
When toxin is administered in small amounts into the muscles underneath the wrinkles, it blocks the chemical release of acetylcholine, which is needed to trigger muscle movement. Toxin temporarily stops the effect of acetylcholine, meaning the muscles responsible for the visible lines and folds on the epidermis, become relaxed. You’ll then notice a smoother and visibly younger appearance immediately!
Anti wrinkle is administered in areas,
The most common areas are the frown lines between the eyes, the furrows of the forehead, the crow's feet at the sides of the eyes,
2 areas Frown line and forehead
or
2 areas Frown line and eyes
3 areas Frown line, forehead and eyes
Typically treatment is administered every 3-6 months. Sometimes less and sometimes more, depending on the muscle and specific area.

AFTERCARE
* Don’t rub your face
This is probably the most important step, the cardinal rule of toxin aftercare. Rubbing the skin could move the toxin into areas you don’t want it. However tempting it may be to rub your face, it can have adverse effects on the wrong muscles and may even lessen the effectiveness of the initial treatment.
After your procedure, avoid rubbing your face for the rest of the day and don’t get any kind of face massage for at least 24 hours.
* Do use an ice pack
Using an ice pack is an effective alternative to rubbing the affected area, and can reduce signs of swelling and bruising. Best of all, using an ice pack will also help to minimise any pain.
* Don’t take certain types of medication
Speaking of pain, strong medication and other tablets can have a damaging effect after toxin.
You should stay away from anything that can thin the blood. This includes: Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Exedrin, St. John’s Wart, Vitamin E, Fish oil, Omega-3s and Ginseng.
Ideally you will not have taken any of this medication for a week prior to your treatment, and will continue to avoid them until everything has healed up.
* Do take some certain types painkillers if you need to
Generally speaking, standard Paracetamol tablets are fine and may provide some pain relief. Just make sure you avoid all the types of medication list above.
Many toxin patients report very mild headaches, and this will help to ease the pressure.
* Don’t let your body get too hot
Avoid taking any hot showers or baths for the first few hours following your treatment. Too much heat can increase your blood pressure, increasing the blood flow to the treated area.
You should also avoid using a sauna, steam room or sun-bed for three to four days.
* Do try to stay upright for the first few hours
Toxin spreading to other muscles such as the eyelids is a big no-no. This can be prevented by making sure you don’t lean forward too sharply right after your treatment. For the same reason, it’s also better not to lie down for four to five hours.
Stay upright and you’ll be fine.
* Don’t drink large amounts of alcohol
If you drink too much, it can lead to increased fluid retention. That’s the skin holding too much fluid, which you certainly don’t want after toxin. If this happens, it can lead to more bruising or swelling.
* Do seek medical attention if you experience any adverse side affects
Always call your clinician straight away if you have any complications or side affects you were not expecting.
– Don’t exercise for the rest of the day
Trust us, that workout can wait until tomorrow. Strenuous exercise could cause the toxin to move around, which is something you want to avoid.
* Do put on mineral-based makeup if you want to
This is fine to apply immediately after your treatment, but do try not to put on non-mineral based makeup for at least 12 hours.
– Don’t put your skin under any unnecessary stress
For the next week, avoid skin manipulation treatments at all costs. This includes laser hair removal, electrolysis and microdermabrasion. Once again, this could cause the toxin to move out of place.
* Do go back for touch ups
Aftercare is one of the most important parts of your service, and if you’re unsatisfied with your results or feel like you need more treatment then don’t hesitate to book a follow up or additional appointment.
Remember that any complications are very rare, as only small amounts of toxin are injected at a time. Keep this guide in mind to stay extra safe.
Your toxin treatment will take anywhere from three to five days to begin to work. Stay patient – it may take up to two weeks to reach the expected result.
